Start with the controller, its power supply and the main water valve. When the whole system is dead, the cause is usually power, the controller program, or a closed main valve. When just one zone is dead, it is almost always that zone's valve, solenoid or wire. If those checks don't find it, call (509) 986-4262 and a technician will trace it.
Most of these checks are safe for a homeowner: make sure the controller has power and isn’t in rain or off mode, confirm the main irrigation valve is fully open, and try running the zone manually from the controller.
If one zone won’t come on while the others do, the fault is on that zone’s circuit: a bad solenoid, a broken wire, or a valve that won’t open. Typical repairs in the Spokane area run $90 to $200 for solenoid and wiring faults as of 2026.
